CREDIT GUIDELINES QUICK GUIDE

Currency: Womanshare Credits
  • One credit for working one hour.
  • Smallest unit is 0.25 credit.
  • Credits not exchangeable for US dollars.
Membership Trades
  • Credits charged for service and preparation time: I credit per hour.
  • 0.5 credit per hour for round-trip travel time over 30 minutes.
  • No credits for socializing or buddying or non-work-related waiting time.
  • Discuss credits before performing services.
Workshops and Classes
  • Credits charged are divided equally among the attendees.
  • Maximum charge to each attendee: 0.5 credit per workshop hour.
  • Registrants who cancel less than five days before the event are liable for credits.
Womanshare Work
  • Work for the benefit of Womanshare as an organization.
  • Six hours per year required as dues.
  • Work for a committee or other individual or group work: I credit per hour.
  • Participation in committee meetings and Council meetings: I credit per meeting (plus 0.5 credit per hour after three hours).
  • Providing meeting space for monthly "pot luck" gatherings: 5 credits per meeting
  • No credits for attending monthly "pot luck"' gatherings nor for travel for Womanshare work.

Do I (a member already) get credits for attending New Member Orientation sessions?
Yes, the same as for committee meetings.

What if the trade or service is not mentioned in the Guidelines?
If between members, negotiate beforehand. If for Womanshare, ask the Credit Committee.

Can credits be used as gifts to individuals or organizations outside Womanshare?
Definitely, yes.

Who gets charged for work done by brokers in facilitating trades?
Whoever asked for the help, usually the recipient of the services. Not Womanshare.

How can I pay my Womanshare time dues?
Work on a committee, provide space or help out at pot lucks, provide services for Womanshare  founders.

How are credits handled in an affinity group?
The members of an affinity group, by agreement, do not charge one another credits. If a member wants credits for her participation,  then she is offering a workshop and can charge credits as described below.
